Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time:  30 minutes

Haven't tried it yet

Ingredients:

8 (5 ounce) bone-in, skin-on Chicken Thighs

Salt and ground Black Pepper to taste

3 tablespoons unsalted Butter

4 cloves Minced Garlic

¼ cup packed Brown Sugar

1 tablespoon Honey

½ teaspoon dried Oregano

¼ teaspoon dried Thyme

¼ teaspoon dried Basil

Cooking Instructions:

1.  Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

2.  Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper.

3.  Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat.

4.  Add chicken, skin-side down, and sear until just browned, 2 to 3 minutes per side.

5.  Remove chicken to a plate.

6.  Melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter in the skillet, stirring to loosen any browned bits on the bottom.

7.  Add garlic; cook and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

8.  Stir in brown sugar, honey, oregano, thyme, and basil until well combined.

9.  Turn off the heat and return chicken to the skillet, skin-side down.

10. Roast in the preheated oven until chicken is no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, 20 to 25 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted near the bone should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

11. Drizzle pan sauce over chicken thighs when serving.

12. Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

1.  Both boneless and bone-in chicken thighs are affordable, delicious options for oven-baked recipes, but bone-in wins for best taste. The bone marrow spreads to the meat during cooking, creating an unforgettably rich flavor.

2.  Leftover garlic brown sugar chicken can be safely frozen for up to three months — simply allow the chicken to come to room temperature before sealing it in a plastic freezer bag and squeezing out any air. Reheat in the oven or on the stovetop for best results.
