What We Use at CI

NOTE: FSC certificate number C014262 — specifically FSC 100% Credit on their bulk pack individual SKUs (forks, knives, spoons sold separately in packs of 100). FSC 100% is the stronger certification tier. 100% natural birch wood, steam and heat sanitized for safety — no chemical treatment is claimed or indicated. Natural wood color only. No coatings, no dyes mentioned in any product description.

NOTE: PFAS confirmation not published. FDA food contact documentation not published on consumer page. Country of manufacture not explicitly stated on product pages — the FSC chain of custody documentation would resolve this.

Other CI-Approved Hair Conditioners

NOTE: EcoSouLife explicitly states on their product page: FSC Certified Birch Wood, finish is smooth sanded (no wax or coating), chemical free — no bleaches, dyes, or plastic coatings. These are the strongest explicit no-coating, no-dye, no-bleach disclosures found in this product search.

NOTE: Country of manufacture not disclosed on product page. PFAS non-detect testing not published. FDA food contact documentation not published (Australian-market brand). FSC certificate number not published on consumer page.

NOTE: Choose the Boston, Miami, Nuova, or Palma lines.

Brand: Eco-Gecko

NOTE: Eco-gecko explicitly states FSC Certified Birch, no toxins, no chemicals, no coatings, softened and sterilized with hot water — confirming that the only processing agent used is water/steam, not chemical bleaches or surface treatments.

NOTE: Country of manufacture not published. PFAS documentation not published. FDA compliance not published. FSC certificate number not listed on consumer page for independent verification.

Not the Gold Standard

All three are solid birchwood, uncoated, undyed, and meaningfully cleaner than any plastic or composite alternative. The category does not have a product that is fully Gold Standard as written because no consumer brand in this space publishes PFAS laboratory testing or explicit FDA food contact documentation at the consumer level. This is a transparency gap in the category, not a material safety finding.
